About us

Have a look at Volunteer roles available

We are run entirely by volunteers and draw upon the knowledge, experience and skills of our members to organise and provide interest groups in accordance with the wishes of the membership. We offer the chance to study a range of subjects and enjoy a variety of creative, active and social events.

We are 30 years old in February 2025.

Setember 2025 we have a new Members only Facebook page, please join us.

Our Groups page lists all the activities both currently and proposed.

Our Quarterly magazine shows notes from our groups.

We hold Monthly meetings on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at the Central Church, Tor Hill Road, Torquay, TQ2 5RN where we have local u3a news and a speaker together with tea and biscuits.

The Events Calendar will give you a list of all upcoming events including group events.

For 2025 the subscription is just £16.00 and as a member you will have access to the many and varied Group activities all run by our members. You will also receive our monthly newsletter and a printed copy of the u3a Matters magazine, which is published five times a year by the Third Age Trust.

If you are in your third age, (the period in one’s life after mid-life employment and parental responsibility) and live in Torquay or its surrounding area, you are welcome to join us. New and existing members can join or renew via our Membership Page. Non members can attend up to two of our Monthly Meetings for a fee of £1 each so you can get an idea of what we do.

We welcome all visitors to Torbay u3a and look forward to seeing you at our monthly meeting, where you will receive a warm welcome. If you have any questions please contact one of our Committee Members. Please also have a look at our history and other local services.
